From working with the elderly & studying for a Diploma in Small Business and Marketing at the same time, to a job in Event Management, to being head hunted by Federated Farmers to a senior role at FMG, Angela has found a real passion for rural NZ. Her advice to those leaving school is to deliberately push yourself outside your comfort zone and embrace the art of networking to ehance your personal and career development.

Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach

Diploma in Personal Training

From snowboarding all over the world to Personal Training and developing her own Nutrition Coaching business Ash shares her amazing life journey so far, while continuing to follow her gut instinct and true passion for helping people be the best they can be in all they do.

Cassandra Hannington

AMP Workplace Adviser

Qualification:

National Certificate Financial Services

From starting work part time after school at age 12 and understanding the value of the dollar, Cassandra left High School after the formal in hot pursuit of full time employment and building wealth. She enjoys roles that provide her with challenges; rewards and development opportunities. Her advice to school leavers is to look for jobs that you will enjoy with a company that provide good benefits and are prepared to invest in your development.

Sarah Eastmond

Real Estate Agent

Qualification:

Certificate in Real Estate / licensed salesperson

Sarah Eastmond left school a the end of Year 12 to embark on a career in Interior Design and began by studying at Ara in Christchurch.  She qualified and spent several years working in the industry before deciding to change careers and qualify as a Real Estate Agent.  Along the way Sarah also had the opportunity to be involved in the New Zealand modelling industry and had to make a decision about what career path she wanted to take.

Sarah Johnson

Office Administration and Sales

Qualification:

None required

Sarah left school at the beginning of Year 13 and went to work at McDonalds, following this she had a stint at a restaurant and a supermarket before landing the job she has now where she is involved in sales, marketing and administration. Sarah loves her job and feels that she has a secure future with a company that is good to work with

Stacey Turner

Vet Nurse

Qualification:

Certificate in Vet Nursing

Stacey is a Vet Nurse at the Culverden Vet Clinic, her dream job.  She studied for her certificate in Vet Nursing in Invercargill at SIT.  Listen to Stacey tell her story.

Terina (Tee) Haehae

Director, Gold Service Cleaner

Qualification:

None required

Terina left school at fifteen and a half not knowing what she would do, she began in hospitality to earn some money with an interest in interior design.  At seventeen she had her first child and married with two more following soon after.  After the birth of her third child she separated from her husband who was their provider and now found herself needing to provide for her family herself.  She went back into hospitality but with such a low income needed to fund supplementary income which she generated through upcycling second hand clothing what happens next in her story will blow your mind.
