Amira Aman
Amira has twenty years of experience as a teacher and leader in secondary education, particularly in girls’ education. She has a Master of Education (First Class Hons) in Educational Leadership with specialisation in adult learning and mentoring and coaching.
Amira enjoys coaching young people who need support with subject/course selection at secondary school; internal and external assessment; friendship issues; navigating next steps after secondary education; developing leadership potential; selection of tertiary education, CV creation, and preparation and practise for an interview.
Amira coaches leaders and aspiring leaders as well as supporting individuals to develop their ability to coach and mentor others. She runs workshops on the development of mentoring and coaching skills, growing leadership capacity, building effective teams and school culture and the art of courageous conversations. She has sound knowledge and practice of NCEA assessment at a national level. She works for NZQA in English internal assessment.
Amira is a mother of three young boys. She understands the development of children /teenagers and how uncertain young people can feel about making decisions about their future. Amira enjoys supporting young people to understand who they are and to explore possible options for their next steps.
